My mom and I attend the Regis and Kelly High Heel A Thon in Manhattan. It took place in Central Park. The High Heel A Thon is a race women and men run in heels that are 3 or more inches. The girls were really fast. Kelly ran too. She had really pretty heels on. The show donated $60,000 to March of Dimes. That will help a lot of babies. My mom and I got to personally thank Regis, Kelly and Gellman for supporting March of Dimes.

While we were in New York City, we went to Ellen’s Stardust Diner. The servers sing Broadway show tunes. They all have excellant voices. It had just been my birthday, so the entire restaurant sang Happy Birthday to me.

My dad, brother and I went to Atlanta for the National Youth Conference. My mom had to work so she couldn’t go. It’s the first time we went anywhere overnight without her. I missed her, but we had fun. We first went to the Atlanta Medical Center to tour the NICU. We met Kerry Strugg there. She is a March of Dimes volunteer. Kerry won a gold medal at the Olympics for gymnastics. I was so excited when she gave me a signed photo.

Kerry took the tour of the NICU with us and members from the March of Dimes National Youth Council. The Youth Council collected baby clothes from all of the youth who came to the conference, and they donated the clothes to the NICU.

We went to a restaurant called The Varsity and had really good onion rings. At the Youth Conference, we played Family Feud. I got to say – and back to the board. We also spoke on stage, and thanked the youth volunteers for their involvement in the March of Dimes. Their hard work helps to save babies. They are all very nice.

My family went to the White House and met President Bush! Every year the National Ambassador visit is honored with a visit to the White House. We went with Ken May, March of Dimes Board Chair, and his wife Tosha, and daughter Alexa. Alexa and I played hide and seek while we were waiting to go into the Oval Office. When we did go in, I asked President what his favorite ice cream is. He said butter pecan. I don’t think I ever tried that flavor. The President gave us a gift bad with a kaleidascope, a picture of his dogs with their footprints, and some other neat stuff. We also went on a tour of the White House. There are a lot of big beautiful rooms to play in.

We thanked President Bush for always supporting March of Dimes and asked for his continued support. The President has been a champion for the babies.
